There are many kinds of tears. There are tears we shed when we don’t get what we want or lose something we wanted to keep. There are tears of compassion, grief, gratitude, pain, sorrow, and tears of laughter.
It is also possible to shed tears of longing for the Divine or Truth. These tears come from feelings beyond the smaller realm of our personal life. They come from a longing for our connection to something larger than ourselves.
Our tears are usually related to personal emotions. But as we move closer to stillness they begin to mix with tears of longing for wholeness—for our Source. These are precious tears that flow into a river of joy. |
