Who can we trust? We have precious few friends to tell us clear-eyed truth in a loving manner. Even then, bias, conditioning and beliefs can enter in and color the "truth." Who can we rely upon to offer us comfort and peace in the midst of our pain? Try as they might, friends are not always able to reach through our anguish and light a candle of reassurance.
At first, silence seems a remote and lifeless realm that offers only emptiness and boredom. However, as we move closer to stillness and linger even briefly in its presence, we discover that the voice of silence speaks Truth, and offers a healing balm to soothe the struggles of the mind. |
