Animals are so completely in the moment we are easily drawn into it by their presence. No matter what is going on in the world the birds will sing with a joy that comes from being wholly in the now.
It is a reminder that most of our suffering takes place in the mind. When the mind is removed from the object of our misery our suffering ceases. Often the entire problem exists only in the mind's tenacious attachment to thoughts.
Is it any wonder we are refreshed and renewed by the spontaneous joy in the sparrow's song? |
