It is easy to say we want wholeness, that we want to be one with all. But, when we contemplate even briefly what this would require it gives us pause. It requires that we inwardly let go of everything that we identify with.
This means our whole story, our life, our drama and all that goes along with it. Surrender it all. Turn away from all that we think of as “me and my world” and turn completely to the Source. We may call it God, or a mantra, stillness, Mother, Father, whatever is natural and appealing to us. We will not really lose all that we are now attached to, but we must let go inwardly as if we had.
Eventually of course, we do lose everything on the material plane. That is why it is so important that we discover what lies beyond, and our connection to that “beyond-ness.” |
