When we are children it doesn't matter to us if we are capable of great things. What matters is that we know we are greatly loved. As we grow into adults it becomes more and more important that we achieve something that will be acknowledged and praised. We feel a greater need to become or acquire something that will make us feel special.
This is because we have learned to identify with our physical being, our mind, our accomplishments, possessions and relationships. As we become more aware of who we truly are, a spark of Divine consciousness in a human form, we realize that we already are special—just like everyone else! |
