There may be times when we feel like we just don't belong here. We might feel that we belong in a benign environment, where the waters of life are clear, safe and hospitable. Instead we might find ourselves in the midst of great difficulty and want, in a world that seems cold and hostile. Naturally we want to change our life situation and we should certainly work toward that goal.
Yet, we will be much more effective in reaching this goal if we are working from a place of surrender to the reality of how things are at this moment. This is not surrender to things never changing but surrender to how they are now. If we can do this, along the way we will find much of what we are seeking waiting within even as we build a better world around us
