It is a beautiful warm sunny day and you are at the ocean on vacation. You have no plans for the day, so after your morning coffee you put on your sunglasses and walk barefoot out the door and down to the beach. The drone of daily life dissolves into the sound of waves breaking on the shore. As you feel the soft sand between your toes and the breeze on your face you feel expanded, free and open as the sky.
The sharp edges of our "self" have softened and we have relaxed into the oneness of being in the present moment. This is a feeling we have access to any time. If we have learned how to become present we can experience this at the office or while mowing the lawn. Granted, it is likely easier at the beach or on a hike in the mountains! |
