Inspiration springs forth from stillness. It emerges unbeckoned from the well of creativity that is within. It pours out through a quiet space in our thoughts and only occurs when we are not conscious of self. When it comes, we must follow it immediately or risk losing it. We need to dive into it like a river and flow with it wherever it will go.
Artists, musicians and all creative people who would prime the pump for inspiration, learn that the only thing they can do is learn to be receptive. This requires finding a way of letting go of our constant preoccupation with self.
