The cry of the soul is drowned in the noisy tumult of the mind. The soul is crying out for stillness, silence, so it can simply be and know itself to be One with all.
The mind thinks the remedy lies in gaining pleasure, possessions, accomplishments and praise, and it works feverishly to attain these. All to no avail. This is like offering gold to a hungry child.
