In music, it would seem that the element of primary importance is the sound itself. However, the sound, timbre, dynamics, rhythm, and the composition itself are all just instrumental in leading us to the most important element of all, which is silence. Sometimes there is a hush at the end of a brilliant symphony or vocal performance.
This is a tangible example of being transported into silence. More important yet is the silence we are transported to within our own being. Inspired music draws us out of our own thoughts and into the flow of the source of the inspiration. The source of the inspiration always leads back to where it came from—Silence.
