In meditation we become aware of the enormity of our feelings and the incredible number of thoughts that are constantly going on. Our thoughts seem as numerous as stars in the sky, never-ending. It is not until we are seeking stillness do we realize the ceaseless activity of the mind.
As we learn to hold our concentration on a central object or thought we move further away from our thoughts and there begins to be more "space" around them. It is in this space between our thoughts that a deep peace is waiting for us to dive in. It is like a tropical lagoon—warm, clear and safe. When we dive in all our cares dissolve like salt in an ocean of joy.
