Nature's pace is a refreshing balm to the soul. For the most part nature moves very slowly, on a scale of time we cannot comprehend. There are times, during storms or other natural earth events when the pace is fast and urgent. Then, once again, the calm unfolding of life resumes.
In our lives, when there is a real crisis or emergency it may be necessary to act swiftly and with urgency, but often we live the bulk of our lives in a false state of emergency created by our minds. This is the anxiety of the age. Living in a state of calm security is possible, but only if we tame the wild and wily mind. In the play of our life, the rhythm of nature is a good beat to dance to.
Slowing our thoughts, and ultimately experiencing stillness is our only avenue to peace of mind.
