If a telescope was not in focus and not perfectly still it would reveal little of the astonishing beauty and amazing secrets of the universe we have seen through its lens. So it is with the mind. One pointed concentration is essential to be skillful in anything we do. No great revelation, discovery, inspiration or accomplishment takes place without focus and concentration.
The mysteries and ecstasies of the vast inner universe are known to one whose mind is as steady as a stream of oil being poured from one vessel into another. The Truth is known to those whose thoughts are as still as a windless night and focused like a laser.
