We are human beings, we cannot help but be deeply affected by powerful events and relationships in our lives. We are, at times, moved to tears by the courage and nobility of the human heart. We are also wrenched and torn by losses and failures that are a part of life. There are some beings that are not crushed by the big waves of tragedy and human drama. Nor do they soar into the stratosphere in euphoria with success or accomplishment. Rather, they remain on a more even keel through all circumstances.
The one who is established in the truth of our human existence knows the transitory nature of all creation and does not resist the ebb and flow of difficulty and success, gain and loss, pleasure and pain. This is not hardening the heart to seek shelter from life, it is expanding the heart to include the whole of life.
