It is so easy to become saturated in the drama of life! In fact it is almost impossible not to soak up the agony and ecstasy like a sponge in the sea. Our desires and fears seem so real. Yet our desires often lead to disappointment and emptiness—and fortunately our fears are mostly fantasy. We are either dragged mercilessly by our mind, up and down with the events of our lives, or we begin to see the insanity of resisting what comes to us.
This does not mean we should not take action to change things if this is appropriate. It just means we stop walking up to walls and banging our head, saying over and over, "this wall should not be here!"
