We may not call it grace, but there are times in life when we experience peace or joy that we know we have done nothing to earn or deserve, it is simply a gift. We may have the opportunity to hold a newborn, and feel the peace of a being so fresh from the Source of creation. Or follow a mountain trail to a lake of such pristine beauty a well of joy opens up inside.
The highest response we can have is gratitude. We may not call it prayer, but Meister Eckhart said, "If the only prayer you said was 'thank you,' that would be enough."
