Whether listening intently or participating in music, it is possible to "lose" ourselves in the flow of human expression in the form of sound. For a period of time our sense of self, past, future, and life situation dissolve as we disappear into the essence of the music.
Depending on the depth of inspiration the music came from, and the fineness of expression, we are transported to varying levels of expanded consciousness. The great world figure and spiritual giant, Vivekananda said, "Music alone can take you to the highest!" Inspired music is a form of intoxication that has no ill side effects. Drink up!
