When we speak or write something, we have the opportunity to step back and contemplate where the words have come from. We may say they came from thoughts that formed in our mind, but what does that mean? Do we create our thoughts or do we capture them after they have arisen and call them our own?
Great thinkers, philosophers and scientists recognize that their creative thoughts and discoveries percolate out of stillness. In fact it is out of stillness that all of our thoughts come forth, though we rarely notice. We believe we are thinking. It would be more accurate to say that we respond to thoughts that emerge from still consciousness. If we could know that Stillness perhaps we would know from where we have come—and remember our home.
