At times we may wonder why we feel empty inside, so void of enthusiasm and inspiration. Often it is not really because we are empty, it is because we are so full of our own thoughts and cares there is no room for anything else! Life's gifts of joy, peace and creativity arise in stillness.
We need to find a pathway or a portal through the layers of endless thinking that keeps us apart from our wholeness. It helps if we can "pour ourselves out" through something. This could be writing, painting, playing or listening to music, walking on the beach, in the woods or in the mountains. When we can pour out our cares like water from a cup, then there is room for it to be filled with something higher.
