A great deal of our time, energy and determination are dedicated to resisting what already is. This is such laughable insanity it is amazing that it is present on such an enormous scale. When we begin to observe our minds we discover how much of our inner dialogue consists of complaining about how things are, wishing they were different, denying they are as they are, declaring they just shouldn’t be, etc.
We may as well pound our head against a tree and say, "You shouldn't be here, you can't be real.” When we surrender to what is we find peace. We are also more effective if action is called for to bring about a change. Surrender does not mean accepting that things will never change. It means accepting that right now things are as they are. Anger, resistance and denial will not bring about change or anything positive. Surrender and effective action hold these keys.
