We happily lose ourselves in pleasures of the moment. They are short lived but so enticing and intoxicating that we pursue them again and again, often for the whole of our lives. Yet, there is a joy and bliss far beyond any of life’s temporary pleasures. Even when we begin to see the truth in this, it may still seem quite uninviting to give up our attachment to our desires and dreams, in order to experience a promise of ecstasy.
However, when viewed from another perspective letting go of attachments can be very attractive. We can think of our "little self" and all its longings simply dissolving into a larger realm of joy, like a dewdrop in a lake. This realm contains all, and is in fact the Source of all we love, desire and could ever dream of.
