The first sign of a thaw after a long stretch of snowfall and freezing temperatures brings hope to the heart and warmth to the bones! I remember as a young boy how completely I was drawn into the moment by nature's first murmurings of spring! I loved winter and all the wonderful snow related activities, but springtime held the promise of the long leisurely summer to follow. Hope was in the air, singing in the sounds of snow sliding from rooftops, icicles dripping, and little rivers of snowmelt running down the driveway.
A single moment of truly listening to music, to nature, to stillness, will lift us from the anxiety of the future into the hopefulness of the present moment.
