The still and silent now is really eternity, the formless field of consciousness in which all things are born from—and to which all things return. The Big Bang is a majestic example of this unfolding of creation. All things, all human beings, are un-manifested and then manifested, and then once again, un-manifested.
While we are here, everything seems so concrete and permanent. And yet with close examination it becomes clear that nothing at all that has form will last forever. This awareness can be terrifying or it can be liberating. Once we know the futility of attachment to material things, what freedom to let them go!
