Of course it is silly to think of a sunset feeling proud. We may not have given it much thought but it is equally as silly for us to feel proud of something we have accomplished or talents or gifts we have. Have we not been given everything we possess and everything we are? Who among us is responsible for creating their own body or mind? It is healthy to feel proud in the sense of feeling good that we have been able to do something of value. But, to feel proud in the sense of "I did this and I deserve praise" is pure self-delusion. We all have had this thought and will likely have it again. But we can still be aware, that in truth we can take no credit for what we do with our body and mind. Then, in time, we will gradually stop identifying with who we think we are—and begin to know.
